The Catholic Church aka La Cosa Nostra

The RICO laws were put in place in the 1980's as a tool that the federal government could use to go after the hierarchy of organized crime. The law recognized that the power structure of the mafia was successful because it functioned to protect felons from the crimes that they committed. The different "families" colluded to protect each other and elude the law. All of the problems were handle internally and the police were never brought in to solve the family business. The Catholic church behaves the exact same way as they have eluded the law and enlisted an archaic fear based system of belief to enable them to continue to commit crimes. Not one priest, nor the vatican, has been held accountable for the molestation of children. The man at the top, the pope, should be arrested and charged with covering up hundreds of priests who repeatedly molested children. What attorney will have the moral courage to bring this man to justice? At least in the mafia they know what to do with child molesters..............

Sucker Populism

A hallmark of right-wing populism is a phenomenon know as Producerism:

Producerism is defined as:

"An ideology of populist economic nationalism which holds that the productive forces of society-the ordinary worker, the small businessman, and the entrepreneur, are being held back by parasitical elements at both the top and the bottom of the social structure." "In nativist rhetoric illegal immigrants are viewed as a threat to the prosperity of the middle class, a drain on social services, and a vanguard of globalization that threatens to destroy national identities and sovereignty."

These movements are all (throughout history) based upon the psychology of celebrity worship. These movements convince working-class people that these celebrities have their best interest at heart and are fighting for them. (See Sarah Palin, Rush, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, O'Reilly, and briefly Joe the Plumber) As usual, only the wealthy benefit and that is why they underwrite the movement.

Yesterday Fox News had to force Hannity off the air and would not let him broadcast from the Tea Bagger pouting party. He lied to the assembled crowd about a "family emergency" and quickly kowtowed to his corporate bosses at Fox. He was charging $20 bucks for tickets, was hocking his book and wanted to broadcast live. Hannity was going for the hat-trick to cash in on his celebrity, just like the former half governor who quit her job to cash in on her fame. All that is accomplished is having suckers line up, pay money, and make these celebrities rich.

Tom Coburn just joined the Enemies List!

Who is up for a trip to Oklahoma? Today was an amazing day as the Republican Senator from Oklahoma, Tom Coburn, was caught telling the truth at a townhall meeting. He told a frightened old lady that she would not be thrown in jail if she did not buy health-care and he went on to criticized Fox News for peddling false information and for playing on peoples fears. Than he went really berserk as he went on to call Nancy Pelosi a "nice lady" and was jeered by the crowd. He said, "she is a nice lady, come on, how many of you have met her?" So here you have a man that is revered as a real conservative (nicknamed Dr. No) telling a crowd of his constitutes that they are being mislead by Fox News. He issued this prophetic warning to the crowd, "so don't catch yourself being biased by Fox news." This just shows you have deep the "socialist" Obama agenda goes as they have recruited Tom Coburn to be a double-agent. I am stapling my tea-bags to my hat as I speak because I know Fox News would never play upon my fears to drive up ratings! Let's see now.........we kicked David Frum out of the party, McCain is on his way out....and Coburn was exposed as a liberal.

But on a serious note, if Tom Coburn is calling Fox biased at what point do you start to look around for other sources of information?
