Time to take the pen out of Dobson's hand

"Dr." Dobson has decided to write a fictional letter to his followers about what life will be like in 2012 under President Obama. If you need a good laugh you should go on his website and read this letter. My question is very simple, if you keep on trying to scare people with an imagined future, are you afraid to talk about reality? Obama is a Christian man who showed the courage to visit Rick Warren's church and speak openly and honestly about his beliefs. Obama does not need to "scare" people into voting for him by writing some fictional letter about what the future looks like. People tried to scare me about Clinton in 92 and what happened to our country? We had eight years of peace, he balanced the budget, enacted welfare reform, the economy boomed, crime went down, abortion rates went down and the stock market went way up. Almost the EXACT OPPOSITE of what I was told came true. Now, the same old playbook is being used against Obama. McRage is trying to scare people about the economy (he is a socialist) war and terrorism. At what point do you stop being afraid of some imaginary future and look at the facts?

You forgot to mention another one of Clinton's so called accomplishments. That being, keeping Yasar Arafat waiting in the Rose Garden while Clinton was cheating on his wife with an intern in the Oval Office (cleaned up a bit as to not offend anyone with explicit details). Not exactly what one expects from a Commander in Chief. Any so called accomplishments that may have come Clintons way while in office most certainly have or will be erased by his sexual misconduct.

With regard to looking at the facts. Facts are very telling. It just depends on which side you are on as to whether you want to believe them or not. But the prudent thing to do is to investigate, listen and research both sides of the issues at hand. To turn a blind eye is a very dangerous thing to do. love ya, Susan

Wow, I'm not a fan of Clinton's personal decisions either, but how does extra-marital sex negate historical accomplishments of a President(or any person for that matter) on a national and world basis. Thomas Jefferson slept with his slave, does that negate all his accomplishments? If Ghandi had slept with a prostitute, would his life of been worthless?

I'm a math major, so I'm interested in the logic behind this one.

Dobson should have a centerpiece in any forthcoming "Museum of Evangelical Hate and Intolerance" My favorite part of this letter was the part about if you elect Obama your child will be forced to sleep in a tent with a homosexual Cub Scout Leader!! Classic Dobson!

First of all I don't think I was talking about Jefferson or Ghandi. But since you make reference to them, Pauly with regard to my comment on Bill Clinton it reminds me of something my parent's told me when I was growing up. That being just because someone else does something wrong doesn't make it right or o.k. for me to do the same.

With regard to Bill Clinton's accomplishments and legacy, let me just mention a few.

1. The only President ever impeached on grounds of offical misconduct.
2. The most number of convictions and guilty pleas by friends and associates.
3. The most number of cabinet officials to come under criminal investigation.
4. The most number of witnesses to flee the country or refuse to testify.
5. The most number of witnesses to die suddenly.
6. Largest criminal plea agreement in an illegal contribution case.
7. 1st President to establish a legal defense fund.
8. 1st President to be held in contempt of court.
9. Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions.
10. Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions from abroad.
11. 1st President disbarred from the United States Supreme Court and the State Court.

"Logic" tells me that this is one heck of a Legacy.

Susan
