100 dollars
I will pay 100 dollars to ANYONE who can tell me how the sermons of Reverend Wright will influence, change, affect, shape or craft legislation or pending legislation in the United States of America. This is an open offer to all who are distracted and distorted in their belief that Obama's pastor has any bearing on this election. I do not live in a country of guilt by association, if you enjoy living in such a society I suggest Cuba, China or North Korea. I eagerly await all policy discussions by all who are "troubled" by Obama's pastor. If we take this school of thought to its logical extreme all of you who support McCain must believe God sent hurricane Katrina because of the Gay pride parade and feel Catholics will burn in hell. (bad news for Dad and Denise) McCain pastor said these things on the record, very troubling.......

Matt is talking about the reverened John Hagee. A lunatic who loves israel and wants to "spur" along the appocalypse.....
In both cases both McCain and Obama, their pastors are more of a political affiliation then a personal one. I know McCain hates the christian right, Robertson, Dobson, etc...but had to embrace them because of political reasons.....
I would not want to be held accountable for some of the sermons that Byron gave while Dad and I attended. There was the one that said that Catholicism was a cult and that it was ridiculous that Mother Teresa should be considered for sainthood. She wasn't all that special. Also, he preached that a friend of ours who was an "adulterous" woman should come up to the dais and confess her sins to the whole congregation. According to him, the only RIGHT religion was a covenant one. There were many more. Glad that after 10 years we made the right decision to leave.
I would hope that people would not think that Dad and I are that way.
